Ripon Building, a fine modern attempt at the Indo-Saracenic, is the headquarters of the Chennai Corporation, to which the move from Errabalu Chetty Street was made in 1913. It is an all-white structure and is located near the Chennai Central railway station. Ripon Building was built by Loganatha Mudaliar and took four years to build at a cost of INR750,000. The Ripon building was named after Lord Ripon, Governor-General of British India and the Father of local self-government.
